Sports Photographer: Have Camera, Will Shoot (Still Available!)

Yesterday's big snowfall across much of Iowa ended up causing many Iowa high school playoff basketball games to be rescheduled.

Here's a complete list of rescheduled games (some include site changes) thanks to Iowa Prep Sports for compiling that list. They do great work, I suggest you check them out!

With that said, I am still ready and available to photograph any of the numerous games out there (thanks to 4-wheel drive) tonight and tomorrow night! 

If any parents go together to hire me I offer discounted pricing! This is a great deal as you will have me there from the time warmups start until the final buzzer (and for celebrations if your team wins!).

Whichever game I photograph will also have the opportunity to be featured in Sports Spotlight as I have a partnership with them and submit images to them for use in their publication.

With 15 years of experience shooting sports of all sorts I thought I had experienced just about everything possible. Then Saturday happened. Both sides of the gym were packed with fans ready to erupt, like shown above, in support for its respective team! I was court-side with my camera for the highly anticipated matchup between MFL MarMac and Cascade in boys playoff basketball. There was an estimated 2,000+ people in attendance to take in the big game in the gorgeous gym at West Delaware High School in Manchester. "I'm from the Manchester area and went to Maquoketa Valley High School," she said with a warm, welcoming chuckle. "Sure, there were opportunities to move away and work in a big city but I don't know, I guess I just love this area."

Dunkerton Raiders at North Tama Redhawks

A cell phone shot I took out front of North Tama High. Probably one of the coolest entries to a school in all of Eastern Iowa that I've ever witnessed! I must start out by admitting that I'm not originally from this area so when I heard about the buzz surrounding last night's Dunkerton Raiders and North Tama Redhawks basketball games in Traer, Iowa , I was like "Cool, that sounds like fun." I had no idea what was in store! So far this winter season I've had the opportunity to  photograph basketball games at a variety of high schools  ranging from the smaller ones (like Don Bosco in Gilbertville) to the larger ones (like Waterloo East in Waterloo) and yet,  none of them have offered the playoff atmosphere like last night ! North Tama High School has a very cozy gymnasium that really allows the fans to be close enough to really take in the action from up close and offered a throwback to a time before giant new gyms and additions to high schools.
